The spending figure is your estimate — look at what you spent last year. This tool is a guide only: it doesn't replace a quote from an insurer. “Out of pocket” applies the general KVG/LAMal rule (deductible + 10% co-payment with its annual cap). It does not include the daily hospital-stay contribution (15 francs a day, art. 64 para. 5 KVG and art. 104 KVV), nor the cases where the law sets a different share — for example the increased co-payment on certain medicines (art. 64 para. 6 let. a KVG) — and it does not deduct maternity benefits, which are exempt from cost-sharing (art. 64 para. 7 KVG).
